Greetings Wood Ranch Familes,
As December arrives, excitement surrounds us for the upcoming holiday season. Although we long for a well-deserved and needed break we also want to keep the momentum we’ve started moving forward. Our students and teachers have been working hard to increase the focus on academics and continued growth for every student. While resting over the Winter Break I encourage all students to read daily and practice their math facts. This will help maintain academic motivation over the holidays.
I am excited to announce that our very own Mrs. Dianne Brunner is the proud recipient of The Simi Valley Education Foundation’s, Lew Roth Teacher of the Year award! Congratulations Mrs. Brunner, thank you for all you do for Wood Ranch Elementary and the Simi Valley Unified School District.
Over the past few days the teachers have been spending quality class time with Hour of Code. I have asked that each class spend an hour this week working on Coding. There is a link on our Webpage that Ms. Taylor put together that leads you to different Coding activities broken up by grade level. I encourage you to look to this webpage as these are great activities to do at home.
As a reminder, if your child is going to be absent please notify the school office prior to 10:00 am. This will help keep our daily attendance report accurate. Also, if your child becomes injured and for example requires a cast, brace, stitches, or crutches a doctor's note is required. Please call the office if you need further clarification.
I wish you all a very happy and safe Holiday Season. See you all on January 10, 2017!
